Great Barrier Reef
Youth Orchestra
The Great Barrier Reef Orchestra is committed to supporting the next generation of musicians in North Queensland. By establishing the Great Barrier Reef Youth Orchestra, a pathway is forged for developing players to gain experience performing high-quality orchestral repertoire while building the skills needed to progress into the Great Barrier Reef Orchestra and other advanced ensembles.
GBRYO Weekend
GBRYO Weekend is an annual project open to young advanced musicians, aged between thirteen and twenty-three years, and scheduled to next be held in August 2027.
The GBRYO Weekend offers participants an intensive programme including orchestral and sectional rehearsals – all under the guidance of experienced conductors and tutors
A wonderful networking opportunity, the weekend brings together outstanding young musicians from the region working alongside each other to rehearse and perform challenging orchestral repertoire, developing their orchestral technique and musicianship.
