  • Treat all individuals with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of race, gender, age, ability, religion, or background.
  • Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior, including verbal or physical abuse.
  • Be mindful of personal space and avoid disruptive behavior that may interfere with the enjoyment of others.
  • In case of an emergency, follow the directions of venue staff.
  • Silence or turn off mobile phones and refrain from using any electronic devices that may disrupt performances.
  • Keep conversations and noise levels to a minimum during performances.
  • Show appreciation through appropriate applause and engagement while being considerate of those around you.

Guidelines: Townsville Civic Theatre | Denise Glasgow Pimlico Performing Arts Centre

Townsville Civic Theatre TicketShop follows the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice and as such tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except if an event is cancelled, rescheduled, or significantly relocated as outlined.

If you have lost or misplaced your tickets, please contact the TicketShop as soon as possible. In most cases, TicketShop will be able to provide you with duplicate seating passes, which you can pick up prior to the performance.

Both Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC offers wheelchair accessible seating and dedicated limited mobility seating for all performances, subject to availability. Please advise TicketShop when making your ticket booking if you have specific mobility requirements.

Townsville Civic Theatre has accessible toilet and parent changing facilities in the foyer.
Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC has an ambulant (disability-accessible) toilet in the passageway behind the auditorium.

Both Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC offer accessible entrances to all main areas of the venue with easy access facilities for patrons and companions.

The Townsville Civic Theatre features floor level access to the bar and foyer, external and internal ramps located on either side of the foyer to access the auditorium through doors 1 and 2, and an elevator is located next to TicketShop for additional access to doors 4 and 6. Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC offers floor level access to all areas.

Wheelchairs, prams and walkers may be stored for you while you watch a performance – please speak to an usher.

Townsville Civic Theatre provides Assisted Listening Infra-Red receivers for the main auditorium only. These can be used with headphones or a neck loop for use in conjunction with your hearing aids (telecoil), with coverage to all seats in the auditorium. Ask our friendly staff to collect a receiver to enhance your experience with us. The foyer area is also equipped with a telecoil hearing loop for announcements and important information prior to entering the auditorium, no receiver required.

Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC does not have any assisted hearing facilities available.

Patrons with hearing aids are asked to be attentive to the sound level of their hearing devices and adjust them accordingly.

Assistance animals are welcome at both Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC. Please call the TicketShop prior to your visit to let us know how we can best welcome you and your assistance animal. Assistance animals must be certified, so please ensure your dog has the guide, hearing and assistance dogs’ badge on their coat or harness and carry your handler identity card to gain access to public places.

For copyright purposes, photography and video and audio recording during performances is strictly prohibited unless otherwise stated. However, you are welcome to take photos of yourself, friends and family before and after performances.

Situated on the Civic Theatre‘s forecourt, Michels Café and Bar offers a variety of dining and refreshment options to enhance your theatre experience. The bar opens 90 minutes prior to a performance and during intervals providing patrons with a selection of fine wines, spirits, light refreshments and a variety of food delights in a relaxed atmosphere. A cold beverage in the auditorium is permitted during a performance, however hot liquids (like tea and coffee) and food items are NOT PERMITTED.

During interval, Friends of the Theatre (FOTT) Coffee Corner sells cups of tea and coffee to patrons, with all the funding going back into the local performing arts scene.

Catering at Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC being a smaller theatre on school premises offers a limited range of beverages and dining options. ALL food and drink is NOT PERMITTED in the auditorium.

Performances at both Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC start at the time designated on the ticket. In deference to the comfort and listening pleasure of the audience, late-arriving patrons will not be seated while music is being performed. Latecomers are asked to wait quietly until the first break in the program when ushers will assist them to their seats. Please note that performances without intermission may not have a seating break. These arrangements are at the discretion of the House Manager in consultation with the conductor and performing artists.

Regardless of age, each person must have a ticket and be able to sit quietly in a seat throughout the performance. Season subscription concerts are not recommended for children under the age of eight, as the performances are more suited to older children.

The doors to both the Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC open about 1 hour prior to most performances. You are welcome to arrive early, enjoy a beverage of your choice while socialising with other audience members. 

Shortly before the performance commencement, an announcement will be made to make your way into the auditorium.

Vehicle parking is available either side and rear of the Townsville Civic Theatre for patrons with designated disability parking available in close proximity to the foyer for easy access. A drop-off, pick-up driveway is located at the front of Townsville Civic Theatre for patrons.

There are various parking options available when attending Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC. There is limited parking available on the school premises, as well as Fulham Road and Hugh Street beside the school. Alternatively there is parking available at the TAFE Queensland Pimlico Campus.

Emergency exits are clearly marked at both Townsville Civic Theatre and Denise Glasgow Pimlico PAC. In the event of an emergency, please follow the ushers and house staff instructions. Contact an usher or a member of the house staff if you require medical assistance.
